Happo One / ○285cm / Sunny2019.Apr.18

19041801_happoThe mountain ridge of the Northern Alps, including Hakuba Sanzan, looked magnificent against the blue sky without clouds. The compacted area along Kurobishi No.2 Quad was loose and granular. My skis ran smoothly and I enjoyed going down there.

19041802_happoThe temperature was 6.5 degrees and already above zero at Gondola Sanroku Station as of 8 a.m. The sunshine was strong and it got hot today. I felt sweaty even though I took off my jacket. The southern side of Usagidaira Slope, where granular snow was loose like the snow at Kurobishi, was creamy (shown in the photo).

19041803_happo“I enjoy your reports. I’m having practice with other skiers, who were selected to represent Tokyo at Ski Technical Championships. Hey guys, be sure to check today’s report!”, a male skier (on the right side in the photo) from Tokyo said. The area along Alpen Quad is closed until Apr.22 (Mon) as Japan’s freestyle skiers are in training.

19041804_happoThe snow surface was a bit dirty on the non-compacted area of Skyline Course. I was sometimes stuck and lost my balance when I was uncareful. There was no bare part or bush at the compacted area (shown in the photo), which was covered with loose corn snow, and I enjoyed my way to Skyline No.2 Pair Station.
