It was raining heavily at the village yesterday, so I was worried about the condition of the ski area. It got cold and snowing heavily with strong northern wind this morning at Usagidaira. And about 40 cm of fresh snow was piled up on Usagidaira!

The lifts of Usagidaira, Kurobishi and Skyline Course were suspended because of heavy snowfall, thick fog and safety check (* They started from 9:30 a.m.). A guest from Shiga Pre. said, “I always enjoy your report! I met you for first time! I will enjoy skiing for a friend, who is in hospital.”

Snow on the non-groomed area of Riesen was heavy and I slowed down when not I skied straightly. There were about 15 cm of fresh snow on the groomed area in the beginning but skis were not running well. But people, including 3 guests from New Zealand and Australia, were excited with unexpected heavy snowfall!

Fresh snow got less as I skied down and got wet. Corn snow got very wet and fresh snow was heavy on Usuba and it was very difficult to ski. Public Course of Nakiyama was covered with 3–4 cm fresh wet snow. I could ski easier than in Usuba, but ski were not running well.
