Happo One / ◎325cm / Snowy2019.Mar.14
It got colder last night and snowed heavily! The gondola started 15 mins late but the lifts of Usagidaira, Kurobishi and Skyline were suspended because of strong wind. So, I went to the non-groomed steep slope from Panorama Course to Central Course and Olympic Course Ⅰ to enjoy the powder snow.
[Central Course]
When I enter there, there were 40–50 cm fluffy powder snow! People were shouting with joy and it shows how people were excited with the precious powder snow for this time of year. There were similar scenes in the non-groomed area of Riesen and Kokusai.
[Central Course]
I enjoyed great powder run with the floating feeling in Central Course with 40–50 cm fresh snow! The north side of Shirakaba was closed but the south side was available. It was easy to slide on flat slope with 15 cm of bit heavy fresh snow.
[Central Course]
When I returned to Usagidaira, the lifts of Usagidaira, Kurobishi and Skyline were still not operating. Furthermore, the gondola and Kokusai 1 were also suspended at 9:10 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. respectively. The official total snow amount is now over 300 cm since Jan. 29. The strong wind was blowing at the upper part of the ski area, but it seemed there were over 60 cm of fresh snow. By the way, the nicely groomed Panorama Course was covered with 5–15 cm powder snow and I could ski easily.
