Mr. Takao Maruyama (photo), the superstar of Happo, passed 5th in the ski technique championship’s preliminary. He started today’s final from 7th. After this, when the highest score of 95.8 points was marked on “Slalom, Steep Non-groomed Slope” (at Usagidaira), a great cheer came out from the venue.

On the final day of the ski technique championship, soft sunlight reached the slopes through thin clouds. The bumps on the course of “Steep Non-groomed Slope” is large, condition that melted snow and scraped snow mixed. Some people watched the tournament up close from the below of the Alpine Quad through the fence.

Ms. Yuki Ohba (Hokkaido, photo) won a high score of 93.0 points in another event of the finals “Giant Slalom, Steep Groomed Slope” (at Sodeguro). She was 3rd in preliminary and in semifinals, and 4th in final. She is aiming for the victory in the female’ super final. Mr. Keisuke Iyama from Hokkaido, who is one of the favorites to win the competition, was 3rd in the final.

And attention was Mr. Ryu Takeda (Hokkaido, photo) who jumped to the top at in the final from 4th of the semifinals! When I asked, “How do you feel at the top?”, he answered with relaxed mood, “I would be having fun, last day!”. The result of the super final from 12 p.m. will be reported tomorrow.
