After, “Giant Slalom, Steep Groomed Slope” began, the venue was filled with the sound of trumpets and whistles, and cheerings. By the way, you can obtain the sum of scores in semifinal, final and super final without the score of preliminary.

The slope for competitions along Alpen Quad was good condition with granular snow and fresh snow mixed and groomed. Mr. Eichi Sato (Niigata, photo), who is the top of man’s preliminary (photo), got a high score in “Giant Slalom, Steep Groomed Slope” and there was cheering from the audience.

Ms. Miku Kuriyama, who is the top of women’s preliminary (photo), also showed us her great skiing skill. There was long lines from the tickets shop of Gondola Base Station because it was sunny and weekends before opening. And, you also had to wait for about 5 minutes in front of Alpen Quad 10 a.m..

Ms. Ayumi Kaneko, who was the 3rd at the last competition (photo), was 5th in the preliminary in this competition. By the way, Kurosawa was very nice condition with groomed powder snow in the early morning! The south of Usagidaira and Panorama Course were nicely firm corn snow, and Central Course was melted soft. And finally, finals of the ski technique championship will be held tomorrow, Mar. 10!
