2nd day preliminary race was also covered with fog at the upper part of the ski area. But last night’s snowfall changed the slope condition. At the goal area many people were gathered to see the race and started to crowd.

Ms. Miku Kuriyama (on photo, 89.6 points), from Niigata Pref. who is aiming to win the competition for three times in a row, was 1st spot in yesterday’s preliminary race. It was just before the race but she said, “I’m not that tensed yet.” She was followed by Ms. Yuki Oba (Hokkaido, 88.8 points), Ms. Yui Sunohara (Nagano, 88.6 points) and Ms. Akari Oba (Miyagi, 88.4 points).

Three preliminary races, first day’s “Combined Skiing, Intermediate Groomed Slope” and second day’s “Long Turns, Steep Groomed Slope” and “Short Turns, Steep Groomed Slope”, have been held. “Short Turns, Steep Groomed Slope” was held at Sodeguro. “Short Turns, Steep Groomed Slope” was sometimes suspended by thick fog and delayed. And, “Long Turns, Steep Groomed Slope” was eventually changed schedule from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. It was difficult to concentrate but Mr. Eiichi Sato (On photo, Niigata, 91.6 points), who was 1st spot in yesterday’s preliminary race together with Mr. Ryu Takeda (Hokkaido, 91.6 points), posed to our camera.
