“Winter Party” was held yesterday from 4 pm at PHENIX STORE HAKUBA, which opened in 2018 Dec. It was crowded with contracted skiers, including Ms. Seika Matsuzawa, those concerned, and general visitors. Cuisine using local ingredients, liquor and soft drink was served.

It was warmer this morning than yesterday as low air pressure developed in Nihonkai (the Sea of Japan), however, it was snowing in earnest at the slope. Alpen Quad started operation for the first time in four days since the wind finally calmed down (there was a gentle wind blowing at the upper area though).

The amount of fresh snow was just 3-4 cm as it started snow heavily in the early morning. The southern side of Usagidaira, the area along Kurobishi No.2 Quad and Skyline Course were well-compacted and firm. The snow surface was unclear because they were covered with 3 cm of fresh snow, however, they were still nice.

“Hi, are you a Snownavi staff member? We enjoy your reports!”, a group of four snowboarders coming from Saitama Prefecture said. The low air pressure is likely to move in the east over Nihonkai, which will bring winter air pressure. It was snowing more and more heavily at the foot. By the way, lift tickets are free for elementary school children today as it is “Skiing Kid’s Day”! (※Preschool children are always free.)
