Happo One / ◎180cm / Cloudy2019.Jan.19

19011901_happoIt has been windy at the upper area for three days. Fewer lifts were suspended today. Only three lifts, Usagidaira, Kurobishi, and Risen Grad, were unavailable as of 9 am. Powder snow was nicely firm and I enjoyed gaining speed on the compacted Panorama Course.

19011902_happoRiesen Slalom Course was more crowded than usual weekends this morning. It was thoroughly compacted, firm and great. My skis ran well and the edges cut into the snow well. Advanced skiers/snowboarders went down with speed one after another, raising a cloud of snow.

19011903_happoUsuba Slope, which is located in the lower area of Risen, was great too, covered with soft powder snow. When I was heading for Gondola Sanroku Station, I found the last area of Shirakaba Slope was a bit hard. By the way, Nakiyama No.3 Triple will start operation from 6:40 and you can enjoy “Asaichi (Early Morning) Risen” tomorrow!

19011904_happoDry snowflakes were falling on the northerly wind at the area along Alpen Quad. Fresh snow from the night before last was left untouched as Alpen Quad was suspended all day yesterday. When I walked on the snow (on the lower area in the photo), it made a squeaking sound.
