It was much more chilly at the snowy Usagidaira Slope than I had imagined at the foot. There was almost no wind and dry snowflakes fell silently this morning. It was foggy, however, the visibility got clear in 30 minutes and many skiers/snowboarders came to Kurobishi Slope.
[Kurobishi Slope]
The area along Kurobishi No.2 Quad was covered with about 8 cm of fresh snow. It was firm, compacted and nicely soft. Meanwhile, there was about 20 cm of fresh snow at the compact area along Kurobishi No.3 Pair, which was much more than I had expected! I saw people shouting for joy, dropping powerfully, or falling down and being covered with snow here and there.

Fresh snow lied about 20 cm at Skyline Course, too. I had a bottom feeling of the hard slope, however, it didn’t bother me because there was soft fresh snow. By the way, “SKIMO” has started since Jan.10. You can enjoy climbing based on Skyline No.2 Pair Lift, after sealing a sticker to your skis.
[Skyline Course]
The soft fresh snow was tread down and skis ran well at Rindo. Then I reached Sakka Slope through Rindo. The hard flat slope was soft because about 7 cm of fresh snow worked like a cushion. Four skiers from Australia also skied down the nice slope smoothly after the photoshoot.
