Happo One / ◎160cm / Light Snow2019.Jan.06
The chill has come back since last night and it was snowy from last night till this morning. The upper area was shrouded in the fog in the early morning. When I got off Alpen Quad and measured the amount of fresh snow, it showed only about 7 cm, however, it was perfect powder snow.

The fog cleared in 30 minutes and a little sunlight came through. Trees at the upper area of Panorama, Riesen Slalom, and Skyline Course were covered in rime and I enjoyed the typical sight of severe winter.

The wide compacted area along Kurobishi No.2 Quad was great. The skis ran well and I enjoyed gaining speed and feeling the wind. “The amount of fresh snow is little but the quality is great!”, a snowboarder on the lift spoke to me.

I went from Skyline to Kitaone No.3 Slope through gentle slope at the upper area of Kitaone. I got excited because powder snow was nicely firm. The lower area, including Sakka, lower Olympic II and Shirakaba were compacted and hard. On the other hand, ski tracks were frozen at the non-compacted area of Shirakaba, which were difficult to slide down.
