Happo One / ◎170cm / Snowy2019.Jan.03
It was chilly and snowy again this morning too. We have had snow every day since Christmas except for New Year’s Day. By the way, today was the last day of “Asaichi Riesen”, which was available every day from Dec.29 (Sat). The next Asaichi Riesen is scheduled for the three-day weekend in January.

Light, fresh snow from last night laid about 20 cm deep at Usagidaira. Meanwhile, there were big moguls on the non-compacted area and I heard people saying “It’s hard, really hard!”. Only a few people slid down the area along Alpen Quad (shown in the photo), while many headed for either southern non-compacted area of Usagidaira or Kurobishi.

All of the compacted courses were firm and nice, although the amount of fresh snow was different, ranging from 3 cm to 10 cm. There were big moguls at Kitaone Course and Olympic Course Ⅱ, however, they were also firm and I enjoyed going down on them.

“I enjoy your reports.”, a man told me. “I quit my job in Kanagawa before winter. I am now staying at an inn at the foot of Happo and enjoying skiing every day. I will go back to my hometown in Hiroshima and start a new job in March”, he said.
