Happo One / ◎140cm / Sunny2019.Jan.01

19010101_happoHappy New Year! It was chilly in the early morning on New Year’s Day with the temperature at -12℃ at the base due to the radiative cooling. People gathered at Nakiyama No.3 Triple Station around 6 am to enjoy Asaichi (Early Morning) Riesen. However, not many people came because “HAPPO-ONE Countdown” was held last night.

19010102_happoNakiyama No 3 Triple and Riesen Quad started operation at 6:40 and 6:50 respectively. The sun rose just at 7 am and I exchanged the New Year’s greetings with people there. After that, I saw people going down Riesen Slalom Course, which had no track one after another in the morning sunlight.

19010103_happoPanorama Pair and Kokusai No.3 Pair started operation at 7:40. I enjoyed making turns with speed on Panorama Course, which was well-compacted and firm like Riesen. The southeastern sky was clear, while clouds got overcast beyond the Northern Alps in the western sky.

19010104_happoA number of ski tracks were left in 10 minutes on the Pisten tracks. There were small soft moguls on Central Course other than the 10 m-wide compacted area. “I enjoy your reports!” “It’s a beautiful day with great snow!”, more people spoke to me than usual. Thank you everyone!
