Happo One / ○90cm / Snowy2018.Dec.26

18122601_happoSmall snowflakes drifted with a soft sunlight casting in the morning. The weather forecast had said it would be snowy from last night, however, the amount of fresh snow was only 1 cm at the upper area. We have to wait for powder snow until tomorrow or later. There were not only Australian but many Asian people as well. Many people arrived early today as New Year is coming soon.

18122602_happoA cold northwest wind was blowing when I was going up by Alpen Quad and I felt chilly. The starting area of Usagidaira, which was “roughly” compacted, was hard with ups and downs. There were some snowballs formed by edging and it was difficult to slide down. The compacted parts were in similar condition at middle and last area and I heard the sound of edges’ slipping everywhere.
[Usagidaira Slope]
18122603_happoPanorama Course was hard but it was better than Usagiadira as it is at lower altitude. It was the most crowded slope this morning and I saw lots of skiers and snowboarders ranging from beginners to advanced.

18122604_happoI enjoyed sliding down the northern slope of Kokusai No.3 Pair without worries, as there were only a few bushes and they were marked with poles. Meanwhile, there were big moguls on the non-compacted area along Alpen Quad.
