Happo One / △45cm / Sunny2018.Dec.17
It snowed last night as the weather forecast said. However, the temperature was high and sleet fall at the foot due to the low air pressure occuring in the southern coast of Honshu. I had been worried about what was it like in the upper area, however, I found 15cm of fresh snow at the lower area of Usagidaira ~ starting area of Riesen as I went up by Gondola.

Tracks of pisten were remaining at some parts, including Riesen Quad Station. Overall, there were about 5~10 cm of fresh snow on the compacted snow. I enjoyed makint turns in the soft natural snow, raising a cloud of snow in the morning.
[Riesen Slalom Course]
By the way, Riesen was the only course available today too. Its middle and steep slope with 3,045m in length and an inclination of 20° on average and 30° at maximum was precious in this season. I enjoyed the long running, sometimes going to non-compacted area, which accounted for a half of the course, and sometimes seeing a sea of clouds.

It was a weekday with little snow, however, there were many visitors, mainly intermediate and advanced skiers / snowboarders. By the way, the low air pressure will move in the northeast, which will bring winter air pressure pattern tonight. I expect we will have snow from tonight till tomorrow!
