The cherry blossoms are at their best now in the neighboring Omachi City. While, in Happo, it has been warm these days not only at the foot but also at the upper area. “Usagidaira Kids Park” is open at the southern side of Usagidaira Terrace until the closing day. A family from Nagano City was enjoying a sled ride in the calm weather.

Not only a variety of sleds, including Snow Strider, Snow Runner, Ziphy and Twister, but also shovels, buckets, snowball-making toys (as shown in the photo) are available at Kids Park. It opens from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and you can enjoy for free.

The corn snow of Kurobishi and Usagidaira was nicely firm in the early morning. However, Usagidaira was already melting and getting soft at 8:45 a.m.. Also Panorama Course was in soft corn snow condition and my skis ran well.

This group was from Kansai region. One of them who was from Takamatsu City, Kagawa Pref., said, “I’ve got a seasonal ticket. I will come to Happo many times until the season ends!” I was surprised and glad to hear that he came to Happo all the way from Kagawa Pref. And thank you very much for all people who gave me the watchword today!
