It was snowing this morning since last night. However, it stopped for a while when the gondola started to work and the blue sky spread in the southeast. “2018 Hakuba Happo Super Vertical Race” was supposed to start at 8:30 a.m., but it was changed to 9:00 a.m.. The starting area at Shirakaba Slope, which had about 15 cm of fresh snow, was under preparation.

My visibility was poor at the upper area of the ski area due to fog and heavy snow. The amount of fresh snow reached to about 40 cm in the area along Kurobishi No.3! It was a bit wet but people were excited with the unexpected fresh snow of April.

Snowflakes gradually became larger and denser. It was the closing day of HAPPO BANKS THE SNOWPARK today. It was difficult to gain speed because of fresh snow. However, people who came to enjoy the last day of HAPPO BANKS in this season seemed to have a great time, riding again and again.

“Ms. Aiko Uemura & Mr. Akito Watabe Talk Show” , which is a main event of “Spring Festival”, was held from 11:00 a.m. at Usagidaira Terrace. They talked about insider stories of Olympics from the viewpoints of skiers and interviewer. Mr. Watabe also talked about the story of how he won the World Cup title. The audience all applauded for their great stories.
