A visitor who was the first person coming to Usagidaira from Riezen Quad and we exchanged greetings. It has been biting cold and snowing on and off. The wind was low, the dry snow was falling silently.

The depth of fresh snow was about 25cm at the bottom of Usagidaira and top of Riesen Slalom. Non-groomed area in Riezen felt soft, which raised me up. Also, the lifts above Alpen Quad and Skyline started working late due to course inspection.

The groomed slopes in Riesen were wide and flat and got 10-15 cm of fresh snow. The snow from the top to the middle was soft and I could make turns comfortably. Although it was after 3 days weekend, there were many skier and snowboarders.

The base area also had 10-15 cm of fresh snow. Usuba area (photo) was nicely firm and the bottom slopes of Shirakaba was hard. Alpen Quad started working from 8:40 a.m.. Skyline 2 and Kurobishi Quad started afterwards as well.
