The soft sunlight was cast through the thin clouds. It was very cold, -10 degrees, this early morning, but we do not feel cold after the ski resort was open because there was hardly a wind. In Usagidaira, the beginning part was a little icy, but the other part was nicely firm and the edges of skis worked well.

The slope along Kurobishi No.2 Quad was groomed well and nicely firm. I saw experts skiing down with high speed. We had no fresh snow from the last night, but some people skied into the off-piste run along Kurobishi No.3 Pair.

The groomed slope of Skyline Course was nicely soft and flat. 2 women from Hakuba gave me the watchword, “We always enjoy your reports! Skyline has a good groomed slope, although the steep ungroomed slope was in difficult condition because of ice balls.”

At around 9:00 a.m, the clouds got thicker and thicker not only in the west but also in the east. In Kitaone Course, only a few people went there because there were deep bumps. The groomed slopes of Olympic Course Ⅱ, Lower Kokusai, Shirakaba were nicely soft.
