A cold wave has come on Feb 4th (Sun) evening but HAKUBA VALLEY didn’t have snow as much as Hokuriku region. However, it’s been freezing and snow condition is in the best condition. The temperature was under -10 degree at both of the bottom and the top of the ski area because of the radiative cooling this morning.

The groomed snow at the top was crunching under my feet. The snow was hard in Usagidaira and was soft along Kurobishi Quad. It’s caused by the direction of slopes and the artificial snow but they were both in good condition anyway. Visitors enjoy a day of skiing with raising a spray of snow.

The quality of snow in Panorama, Central and Shirakaba was perfect, I made good turns exactly as I imagined. A visitor talked us “I’ve been wanting to be on Snownavi!” but a reporter didn’t take a good photo of you…We’re so sorry. We’re looking forward to seeing you again!

It was sunny and calm. Many visitors were headed to Grat Quad one and another. By the way, Just 20 years passed since Nagano Olympic was held in February 1998. The 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics will kick off today. Let’s hope for Japanese members’ success!
