Yesterday, the new snow amount reached 134cm in Fukui City and it is still snowing heavily along the Sea of Japan, while we had a sunny day in HAKUBA VALLEY. However, it was blowing a strong wind and the lifts including the gondola and Riesen Quad were closed in the upper areas. The lifts in Nakiyama, Shirakaba and Sakka were open as scheduled.

Although in the bottom area, Nakiyama had a fine groomed slope, thanks to the snowing and coldness in these days. The slope was nicely firm and flat and I saw experts making sharp turns. There was 10cm fresh snow in the off-piste areas and snow spray was raised by curving.

After that, I moved to Kokusai area when Kokusai No.1 Pair was open. There was 10－15cm fresh snow in Olympic Course Ⅰ and Kokusai. We could even 30cm powdery snow with the snow fallen until yesterday in some parts. There were shallow bumps in Olympic Course Ⅰ, but they were soft.

Kokusai, a off-piste steep slope, was covered with deeper bumps. Only 2 lifts could take people to the upper area in the early morning, so the lift station of Kokusai No.1 Pair had a long line. As of 0:00 p.m, the gondola, Riesen Quad, Kokusai No.3, Panorama Pair and Kitaone No.3 Pair started the operation.
