It was snowing lightly at the top of ski area. There were some ice monsters (trees covered with ice) in Usagidaira and Kurobishi. Sometimes it was foggy but it didn’t affect skiing.

The groomed slope was hard and tight, there were some snow-balls in the first part of Usagadaira. The slope from the middle to bottom was in good condition because the powdery snow was on moderately firm foundation. The non-groomed slope along Alpen Quad was covered with ski tracks and 10 cm of fresh snow. The snow was soft and easy to try.

Riesen Slalom Course was groomed widely and covered by 2 cm of fresh snow. I enjoyed skiing fast. Since the course is a popular course, there were lots of ski-trails but the quality of snow was maintained for long time.

The artificial snow in Usuba was not that hard and the fresh snow was dry and at a depth of 2-3 cm. The groomed snow got 2 cm of fresh snow in Shirakaba. It was in great condition in both ski slopes. The sun peeked through the clouds after 9 a.m.
