The official amount of snow is now less than 200 cm because of high temperature, rain and wind in the past few days. The snow in the village is almost melted and the course from Riesen to Gondola Base Station through Shirakaba is closed from today. 5 areas; Riesen Grat, Usagidaira, Kurobishi, Panorama Course & Skyline Course are available from today.

The groomed slope of Usagidaira was nicely melted and I could ski easily. 50 cm deep bumps were covered the run along Alpen Quad but the snow was soft and I could challenge easily. Many people were entered the run around 9:30 a.m.

The groomed run along Kurobishi Quad was flat and nicely melted. On the other hand, about 40 cm deep bumps covered the steep run along Kurobishi 3. 3 people from Kyoto gave me the watchword, “We always enjoy your report!” They own 2 houses in Hakuba and they are enjoying ski life after retirement.

The temperature was high from yesterday, and also it became hot soon after I started to skiing this morning. The beginning of Skyline Course was nicely soft but it became slushy from the middle of course. But because of weekdays, it was not crowded and the run kept fresh from a long time.
