Today, “Hakuba Happo-one Spring Festival” was held!! Although it was raining in the morning, the weather got better at around 9:00 a.m. and many people gathered at Usagidaira Terrace where the festival was held. There was a big lottery which had various gifts such as special goods of Mr. Watabe and Ms. Uemura, season lift passes. 2 girls from Aichi Pref. cheered me and showed their lottery tickets.

At 11:00 a.m, we could enjoy the talk show of Akito Watabe who won the World Cup Game of Combined Nordic Skiing on Feb. 11. There were also treats of Pork Miso Soup and Schissors-paper-rock Competition.

“Hakuba Happo-one Vertical Race” was held as well and it started on 9:30 a.m. Totally 77 people made entries and they ran through Riesen Slalom → Usagidaira → Kurobishi → Skyline → Kurobishi → Usagidaira with skis. Yoshito Watabe also participated in this race.

In this early morning, the groomed slopes of Kurobishi, Usagidaira and Riesen Slalom were very slushy because of the rain, but skis ran well, so I could enjoy skiing comfortably. However, those slopes were very crowded with people and got rough at around 10:00 a.m. 2 people from Osaka gave me the watchword, “We always enjoy your reports!”
