The cold wave from Jan. 23 (Mon) had abated in the last night. However, there were still snow clouds over the mountains and fine snow was falling in the fog this morning. Besides, Alpen Quad suspended the operation temporarily because of the strong wind, so many people moved to Riesen Slalom Course after getting off the gondola.

The lifts in the upper areas started the operation after 9:00 a.m. The snowfall in the last night was not so much, 5－8cm deep, but I found many people skiing into the ungroomed steep area along Kurobishi No.3 Pair. By the way, Urakuro on the right side in the photo have been open since Jan. 22 (Sun).

Anyway, the groomed slopes were so fine today!! My skies ran well in Riesen Slalom, Panorama, Olympic Course Ⅱ, Usagidaira, the slope along Kurobishi No.2 Quad and Skyline. A man from Azumino City in Nagano greeted me and said, “I finally find you!!”

Because in the upper areas, such as Kurobishi and Usagidaira, it was still very cold, so many people enjoy skiing and snowboarding in Skyline Course. The condition of snow in the lower parts (Sakka and Shirakaba) were also good.
