In this Winter, Happo-one started the operation on Dec. 8 (Thu) favorably, but we had no heavy snowfall over 50cm until Jan. 10 (Tue). However, thanks to the good snowing for 1 week since Jan 11 (Wed), the official amount of snow jumped up to 240cm in the upper part and 105cm in the lower part. Today, we had finally a sunny day and the mountain of Hakuba showed its great white peaks in the blue sky.

Because of the radiative cooling, it was very cold (-9℃ in the upper area, -13℃ in the lower area), so the snow was kept in fine condition! In Usagidaira, people skied and snowboarded with high speed, raising snow spray lightly.

The groomed slopes of the south part of Usagidaira, Panorama Course and the slope along Kurobishi No.2 Quad were also good. The edges of my skies worked well and I could make turns as I imagined. I was impressed by the skillful skiing of experts, especially an instructor of Hakuba Happo-one Ski School.

The snow condition still remained fine even in the middle and lower areas such as Skyline, Kita-one and Sakka. By the way, Early Morning Operation will be started from this weekend, Jan. 22 (Sun). Nakiyama No.3 Triple will be open at 6:45 a.m. and Riesen Slalom Course and Nakiyama Public Course will be available (it will be held on Jan. 29, Feb. 5, Feb. 12 as well).
