Happo-one / ◎195cm / Snowy2017.Jan.14

17011401_happoThanks to the heavy snow, today all the slopes at Happo, except Riesen Grat Course, are available! We didn’t expect the lack of snow for 2 seasons in a row, but “all slopes” open 4 days earlier than last season! In addition, today on Jan. 14, the official amount of the snowfall was more 85 cm than that of last season.
[Olympic Course 2]
17011402_happoThe heavy snow hadn’t stopped yet this morning, and the non-groomed area at the Olympic Course, which opened late yesterday, was completely fresh. 40 cm of snow was fallen last night at the bottom of ski area and I enjoyed the fluffy powder snow. The center part of the groomed slope (picture) was nicely soft and I could repeat the turns comfortably.
[Olympic Course]
17011403_happoOn weekends, the operation starts at 7:30 a.m. The thick snowy cloud covered the sky, the heavy snow fell and so it was gloomy, but the ski area was crowded with many people. Sakka area had closed until Jan. 10 (Tue), same as other lower slopes, but now the amount of the snow was enough and there were no bushes.
[Sakka]
17011404_happoWe can ski back to Gondola Base Station from Riesen, Central, Kokusai and Olympic Course. The snow was groomed at important points, so we could come back even from Kokusai and Olympic without any troubles. Around 8:40 a.m. the snowfall became much stronger and it was hazy even around me. I saw really many people at Gondola Base Station as if it were the winter holidays.
