Happo-one / 〇120cm / Cloudy2017.Jan.08

17010801_happoAlthough the blue sky appeared from behind the clouds, the morning sun was blocked and it was half-dark. There was no wind this morning, too. So I felt comfortable even though the temperature was low. Since it was a middle day of the three-day weekend, there was a long line of people waiting for the gondola to start working at 7:30 am.
[Riesen Slalom Course]
17010802_happoAbout 10 minutes after the lifts started working, people arrived at Usagidaira from Nakiyama and Riesen got crowded at once. The groomed slope was nicely firm, so I could use the edges well and ski down smoothly. I saw some advanced skiers skiing down without stopping and going up by Riesen Quad again and again.
[Riesen Slalom Course]
17010803_happoThis group of skiers from Kansai was skiing in a line like a train on the course. The last part of Riesen Slalom Course was icy and there were small snowballs. So it was necessary to control the speed carefully. Around 8:00 am, there was a line of people waiting for Riesen Quad and the waiting time was about 3 minutes.
[Riesen Slalom Course]
17010804_happoThe south side of Usagidaira Slope was groomed and firm. There are icy part below the middle, so it was sometimes difficult to use the edges. Later, the blue sky was completely covered with white clouds. The weather forecast is saying it will be snowy from this evening until next weekend.
