It was chilly morning of -9 degrees Celsius and the trees of the upper ski area were covered with rimes. The sun was not shining but it was windless and it was comfortable morning. After New Year’s holiday Japanese visitors got less day by day and international visitors were increasing.

South part of Usagidaira was groomed well. The trail was very firm and especially at the start of the trail was typical firm artificial snow. There were thin snow area at the end of the trail and it need caution to skiing.

The groomed area along the Kurobishi Quad was firm and it was easy to skiing. There were about 5 cm of fresh snow on non-groomed area. The non-groomed terrain was moderately firm and it was easy to challenge.

Riesen Slalom Course was also groomed very well from the start to the end and it was nicely firm. There were also no bushes from the end of Usuba to Riesen Quad depot and I could ski safely.
