Today, the ski area was also late for opening because of the strong wind and Sakka Kitaone Quad was open firstly at 8:20 a.m. It was snowing quietly from this early morning and the groomed slope of Kitaone No.3 was covered with 2cm light snow. I could enjoy the comfortable feel of the fresh snow and I heard someone making shouts of joy.

After that, Skyline No.2 Pair started the operation at 8:40 a.m. The central part of Skyline Course was groomed and nicely firm with 3－4cm fluffy snow, so I could make turns as I imagined.

Though the cold had abated in the last morning once, it became very cold again and my hands holding a camera got numb during on the lift this morning. The snow was falling heavily in the upper parts and there was 15cm fresh snow in the base area of Kurobishi. Kurobishi No.2 Quad and the gondola were open at 9:00 and 9:10 a.m. respectively.

A family from Kanagawa Pref. gave me the watchword, “We always enjoy your reports!” and also said, “We hope the ski areas to have a heavy snowfall.” It has snowed every day since Jan. 3 (Tue), so the slopes are maintained to be in good condition, however, we need much more snow over 30－50cm. Opening of the all areas in Happo is waited eagerly by a lot of people.
