Hakuba Norikura / △70cm / Snowy2017.Dec.17
Winter accommodation plan is prepared from 8,980JPY (exclusive of tax) at Hakuba Alps Hotel on the side of the slope. There is a unique plan in which “a cancellation fee will be free on the day when no lifts work during the first skiing period lasting until Dec. 22 (Fri).” Furthermore, the hotel has improved its security and safety after the earthquake-resisting repair work.

There was about 15cm of new snow that had fallen since last night on the compacted Wakaguri Chuo Slope. I enjoyed leaving tracks on the light soft snow. Hakunori Family Course was also covered with about 10cm of new snow and in similar condition.

The snow continued to fall in silence around 10:00. However, I was still able to enjoy turning without watching my step because the compacted base was left nicely soft and flat.

I saw a group of high school students coming from Kanagawa. They had an overnight stay at Hakuba Alps Hotel yesterday and were enjoying skiing and snowboarding. They were beginners at snowboarding, however, they did well. It may because they enjoyed skating on a regular basis. In addition to them, a man from Shizuoka also joined the interview adventitiously.
