Goryu & 47 / ◎300cm / Sunny2021.Feb.14

Today, Valentine’s Day, was sunny with no wind. Mt. Goryu looked magnificent against the blue sky (pictured). Like last year, masks were distributed to the first 200 visitors at the front desk on the 1st floor of Escal Plaza from 8 am. The masks came with chocolates or coupons (including a one-day lift ticket for only one lucky visitor)!

It’s been warm since Feb.12 (Fri). The groomed snow was not powdery, not granular, but nicely wet in the upper area, Meanwhile, the granular snow was moderately firm on the undulating Technical Course and along Alps No.3 Pairlift.

“Hi, how are you? I check your website regularly! It’s a lovely day today.”, a skier coming from Matsumoto, Nagano prefecture said (pictured). Toomi Slope was crowded from the early morning. Many people headed for the upper area after all the lifts started working.

I saw only a few people when I skied down Dynamic Course and further Woody Course in the morning. It was warm in the lower area around 9 am today. The surface snow was even melting in the sunlight on Dynamic Course. The snow was watery on Toomi Slope and Powder Course, while it was moderately loose on the lowest Maryland Course because the course faces north.
