Goryu & 47 / ◎215cm / Snowy2020.Dec.30

20123001_goryu47The cold air mass is finally approaching Japan. The weather agency has predicted it would bring record snowfall. At the foot of Goryu47, it was still warm and raining as of 8 am. The rain was turning to snow when I passed through the lower area of Woody Course by Goryu Telecabin. Meanwhile, the wet snow was falling heavily in Alps Daira (pictured).

20123002_goryu47“We’re checking your website. It’s too bad it’s raining at the mountain foot but the snow is great here in the upper area.”, two skiers coming from Hyogo said. There was about five centimeters of wet fresh snow on the firm-groomed run of Grand Prix Course. The snow surface was too rough in the lower area because of the ski/snowboard tracks.

20123003_goryu47It was foggy and windy in the top and middle area, but I didn’t care. The firm-compacted snow was covered with five to six centimeters of fresh snow in Panorama Course and the upper area of Route8. The snow surface was not so rough as that of Grand Prix Course.

20123004_goryu47The groomed snow was covered with about five centimeters of wet fresh snow in the Dynamic Course. The snow was firm in the Woody Course, while it was wet in the Toomi Slope and Powder Snow Course. The wet snow was also great in Maryland Course, blanketed with the falling sleet (pictured).
