There was a snowfall from last evening till this morning! Tele-cabin and lifts in Alps-daira started working at 9:00 am, because it took long time to remove snow and check the course. It was a weekday, however, there were many people seeking fresh snow for this time of year. The line of people extended to the bottom of the stairs at Tele-cabin Sanroku Station even before it opened.
[Technical Course]
There was about 30 cm of light fresh snow on the Technical Course which was non-compacted. Snow that had fallen by yesterday remained soft, so there was greater deep powder snow than I had imagined from “the amount of fresh snow”. There was no bottom-feeling and I could enjoy soft texture.

There was about 10 cm of fresh snow on Grand Prix Course which was well-compacted and firm. Edges of the skies worked well and I saw advanced skiers turning with speed again and again. There were firm deep moguls on Expert Course which is non-compacted and steep. However, it was good to try because over 20 cm of fresh snow worked as buffer.

There was 15~20 cm of fresh snow at the lower non-compacted area like Straight-Whiskey Course. As I skied down, the texture of snow was not so different. Sunny-Valley, Powder-Snow and Soft-Cream Course were all compacted well and nicely firm. However, Toomi Course, which was crowded from early in the morning, became a bit rough around 10:00 am.
