Goryu&47 / ◎150cm / Snowy2017.Jan.11

17011101_goryu47It started to snow heavily again from the last evening. The temperature was very cold, -9 degrees, in Hakuba47 and my hands got numb even before skiing. After skiing through the firm groomed slope of Route 5, I found people making a line in front of Line-C already.
[Route 2]
17011102_goryu47In the steep slope of Route 2, snowboarders raised big spray of snow and skiers showed skillful turns. The amount of the fluffy snow was 20-25cm. We could enjoy the powdery snow fully without feeling the hard ground.
[Route 2]
17011103_goryu47Route 3, a steep slope next to Route 2, was in difficult condition because the run under the fresh snow was very bumpy. People who skied into the course tended to avoid the central parts which had deep bumps and go down along the forest on the skier’s left with short turns.
[Route 3]
17011104_goryu47The groomed slope of lower Route 1 was generally hard and I heard my edges scratching the icy run. However, I found no bushes and ground exposed. Today, Route 7, a detour course, has been open and all areas of Hakuba47 are available now!!
