The preliminary of “JAPAN FREERIDE OPEN” has started. It is held in the upper course through the trees of Warabidaira. While it was blowing a strong wind, but we had the soft sunlight in the blue sky.

In this competition, only the start and goal spot are fixed and the participants choose where to ski and snowboard freely. The total technique of riding is judged. The riders, Mr. Sasaki, Mr. Takahashi, Mr. Mitsudome and Mr. Ishida posed me after their performance.

There were some riders around the lower station of No.6 Pair as well and they were cheering others. I met Ms. Yuki and her friend there.

Tottally, there were 68 entries to the preliminary and the top 30% of each category will reach the finals. The finals will be held in the slope along No.5 Pair and “The Best of Freerider” will be selected in the tomorrow night.
