The best season of flowers is coming! Now, we can see the fresh alpine flowers with rain drops these days. Especially, Sankayou has unique petals which become clear when it gets wet and showed us its mystical reaction today (Photo, many of them are in Mizubasho Marsh – Ukishima Marsh).

The clouds covered the sky at around 8:30 a.m, but the blue sky came back and we could see the ridges of Northern Alps for about 20 minutes from 10:00 a.m. The temperature got up to 22 degrees rapidly and we got sweaty. We are having many cloudy days because of the rainy season, but the blue sky appears from the break of clouds sometimes and this is the typical mountain weather.

There was still remaining snow around Huketsu, some parts from Kusu-gawa River to Ukishima Marsh, from Ginmeisui to Mousen-ike Pond and before Tenbou Marsh, but almost 80% of the all trails were uncovered now. I stopped at Ginmeisui and got refreshed with the cold water of Ginmeisui on the way back to the entrance of the park.

In Ukishima Marsh, I was impressed with the beautiful contrast of bright yellow Shinanokinbai (Photo) and the fresh green. Miyamakinpouge, which also has yellow petals, is also blooming well. We could find other alpine flowers such as Kinugasasou, Chinguruma, Murasakiyashiotsutsuji, Shiraneaoi, Enreisou and so on.
