I got excited with the first blue sky after a week! Gondola starts working in the early morning at 7 a.m. on weekdays between Jul.16 (Mon) and Aug.9 (Fri). (※6:30~ on Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays). Clouds rising from the valley started to hang over the ridge of Ushiro Tateyama Mountain Range when I was about to get on the first Ropeway (7:30 a.m.)

The wind was light in Nature Park but the clouds were moving fast. The sun repeatedly appeared and went behind clouds. Dew drops on flowers and leaves were beautiful as we had rainfall last night. My eyes were caught by Uraziro Nanakamado (shown in the photo) shining in the sunlight on my way to Ukishima Marsh.

Nikko Kisuge was about “one-third in bloom” and I saw several flowers between Ropeway Nature Park Station and Mosen-ike Pond.I also found lots of buds and flowers of Obamizo Hozuki in the shade of trees between Ukishima Marsh and Ginmeisui (shown in the photo).

There were lots of Akamono flowers between Mosen-ike Pond and Tenbo Marsh (shown in the photo). I also found colonies of Chinguruma and Hakusanko Zakura around the swamp at the small valley, where the snow had melted much. Maizuruso, Tsumatoriso, and Iwaicho was in full bloom here and there in Tsugaike Nature Park.

It gradually got cloudy and the sun started to be obscured by clouds around 8:30 a.m. Many people arrived late today and the park began to get crowded around 10:00 a.m. By the way, a summer-holiday event only for kids “Treasure Hunting”, will be held between Jul.20 (Sat) and Aug.31 (Sat), in addition to “MIKKETA”, which is held between Jul.19 (Sat) and Sep.30 (Mon).
