“MIKKETA!, in which you can learn about wildlife and nature in Tsugaike, has begun. Families got instruction of how to use cameras at the reception inside the building and left for Mizubasho Marsh, folliwing the opening ceremony held at Visitor Center from 11 a.m.

There are three activities: “Let’s Become a Photographer and Explore Nature!”, in which you can explore with a real camera in your hand,(1,300 yen – including tax, kit cost and rental camera cost), and “MIKKETA (long course, about 90 mins)” and “MIKKETA! (short course, about 30mins)”, in which you can join in a free guided walk. （※No reservation required.)

You can get a message from “an exploration master” after you make your own “exploration album”, using three photos you have taken, such us plant photos or landscape photos. You can also get a “Let’s Explore with Shimajiro” bag to put your album and bring it back.

Kobai Keiso was in full bloom at Mizunasho Marsh and Watasuge Marsh, while Hiogi Ayame started to bloom on the western route of Mizubasho Marsh (shown in the photo). I found some vivid yellow flowers of Nikko Kisuge at Watasuge Marsh and Ukishima Marsh.

It rained on and off from morning but I could see the blue sky sometimes. Some people were using umbrella while some were wearing rain-coat to keep the rain off. More and more flowers of Gozen Tachibana as well as Maizuruso were in bloom between Kusu River and Ukishima Marsh.
