Tsugaike Nature Park / Sunny2018.Oct.08

18100801_tsugaikeI had expected it would clear up after the typhoon passed, however, the whole sky was covered with gray clouds in the early morning. Afterwards, clouds began lifting before 8 a.m., and the blue sky and the clear Northern Alps appeared. The temperature was low and I felt chilly in a long-sleeved shirt. I saw lots of people wearing jackets.

18100802_tsugaikeAutumn leaves on the slope of the Northern Alps caught my eye first as I reached Mizubasho Marsh. It had been five days since the last report, however, the autumn leaves were still unfading, and the contrast of green leaves with white trunks of Dakekanba was beautiful. By the way, Dakekanba trees along the boardwalk were almost naked.

18100803_tsugaikeThe standard spot where you can take pictures of the marsh and Mt. Hakuba was crowded in Ukishima Marsh. There were so many visitors as it was three-day weekend, and Tsugaike Ropeway was under continuous operation. The sun started to shine, and I sweated a bit while I climbed to Mosen-ike Pond.

18100804_tsugaikeI found the bright autumn leaves when I saw Yase-one Ridge from Mosen-ike Pond. I could enjoy the view on my way to Tenbo Marsh as well. It’s a pity that the eastern route from Tenbo Marsh to Ukishima Marsh via Yase Ridge is closed until Oct.26 (Fri) due to the repair of the trail.

18100805_tsugaikeLeaves in the lower area are also changing colors. One of the way to enjoy that view is riding in Tsugaike Ropeway or Tsugaike Gondola Lift. I felt like as if I were “going through the sea of autumn leaves” around No.26 pole, which is a great viewpoint. I couldn’t help staying beside window to enjoy the autumn colors below us in Tsugaike Ropeway.
