The early morning operation has started in Tsugaike Panorama Way. The gondola will start at 6:30 a.m. in weekends & holidays from July 14 (Sat) to August 12 (Sun) and in weekdays from July 17 (Tue) to August 17 (Fri) will start at 7:00 a.m. Tsugaike Central Parking Area was almost full at 6:00 a.m.. We could enjoy the sea of clouds from the ropeway, which has started from 7:00 a.m. and almost all people were carrying mountaineering equipment.

Some part of the trail was muddy and the flowers such as Kinugasasou, Gozentachibana, Akamono, Mitsubaouren, Maizurusou and so on were blooming along the trail. When I reached Tenguppara the wind was blowing gently and it was very pleasant. The snow in Tenguppara was completely melted and Watasuge and Hiougiayame were blooming.

The snow in the east face of Mt. Hakuba Norikura was decreased compared to two weeks ago and the trail was becoming like stairs so, I could climb comfortably without crampons (with crampons are safer).

I went to Hakuba Oike from the summit of Mt. Hakuba Norikura with the trail which pass through the green creeping pine zone. The snow in Hakuba Oike was thawed completely and the view was changed into the summer. Miyama-daikonsou, Iwakagami and Chinguruma were started to bloom around the pond.

Hakuba Oike Sanso (Hut) was opened on July 9 (Fri) (Until Oct. 8). There were many colorful tents in the tent site. And it was very crowded inside and outside the hut because it was lunch time. The trail to Mt. Korenge and Mt. Hakuba is gentle and the view is great. The course time to Hakuba Sanso from here is about three and half hours from here.
