It was sunny in the early morning but it started to cloud when the ropeway started the operation. The weather was comfortable to walk because of less sunlight.

Not only Mizubasho Marsh but Watasuge and Ukishima Marsh, the snow was melting fast. The circuit trail of Ukishima Marsh was not open yet, but the bench was already open. Ryukinka was in full bloom along the boardwalk and Shinano-kinbai was also started to bloom.

By the way, I was surprised because there were many monkeys in and around the marsh. These monkeys were not used to humans so they were not coming near by and didn’t attack.

When I look up in the some part of the trail, I noticed that fresh green leaves of Dakekanba (Erman’s birch) were beautiful. The deep green of coniferous trees, clear fresh green and the fog were making the mysterious scenery.

At around 11 a.m., Mizubasho Marsh got crowded with tourists. The individual flowers of Mizubasho are small and are tightly packed on a fleshy stem called a spadix which is surrounded by a white but otherwise petal-like bract called a spathe. I could enjoy another side of Mizubasho when I kept these fact in mind.
