On Oct. 22 (Sat) and 23 (Sun), “Tsuga Fes 2016” is held in the Snow Square in front of the intermediate station of the gondola. There are stalls of the shops and restaurants in Hakuba and Otari. It was open at 10:00 a.m. and people came at that time one after another.

The booth of Haratetsu (Construction Machines Rental Company) was very popular among children. They looked to be delighted because they could ride on the real machines they admire. The workshops of woodwork, craft, key holder making, bird call making, can badge making as well.

At the tents and indoor shops, outdoor gears were on sale at the special price. Especially, Hakuba Yamatoya gave 30－50% off discount on the well-known brand’s shoes for trail running. Autumn and Winter clothing and backpacks were also discounted at 40－50% off. FULLMARKS offered boots and skies. YR knit had plenty of knit caps as well.

The temperature in Tsugaike Nature Park was 15 degrees, but it was not chilly in Snow Square thanks to the soft sunlight. “Tsugaike Japan Cup” is also held and I found people paragliding in the sky. People enjoyed not only shopping but also having Pongashi (rice sweets) and ramen.

The trees in the upper part of the intermediate station of th gondola had beautifully turn into Autumn tints. The good season is coming that you can just stop and enjoy Autumn tints by gondola during driving.
