It was an ideal weekend for an outing. When I reached the Mizubasho Marsh by full ropeway, I could have a great view of Northern Alps against the blue sky. It was chilly in the morning under the influence of the cooling radiation. I saw some frost in the shade and a thin layer of ice growing on the puddle.

Anyway, the temperature had risen under the strong sunlight. I could enjoy walking in the fresh air and see Mt. Takatsuma, Mt. Hiuchi, Mt. Myoko in the east and Mt. Asama in the distance. I also enjoyed a fine view from Tenbou Marsh and some visitors had a late breakfast, seeing Northern Alps in front of them.

The autumn leaves are almost fading in Tsugaike Nature Park, however, we can still enjoy autumn leaves in the farthest part, Yase-One. As I walked down the steep stairs, I met the brilliantly colored leaves. Red and yellow leaves contrasted with the white trunks of birches and mountains were magnificent.

Larches were especially beautiful. They are the deciduous tall trees, which is unusual for coniferous trees belonging to the pine family. The 2-3 cm-linear leaves had turned yellow along the stairs and slope in Yasa-One.

The number of visitors had increased in the daytime and some narrow points were crowded with people. Thanks to the calm weather, colored leaves had not fallen. So the colored autumn leaves were still at their best on the weekend along the Tsugaike Gondola Lift.
