Tsugaike Nature Park / Sunny & Cloudy2016.Sep.01
In this summer, Visitor Center at the entrance of Tsugaike Nature Park has been renovated greatly. This large-scale renovation will last until August, 2017. By the way, Tsugaike Nature Park and mountain trails to Hakuba Oike Big Pond are open as usual.

In this morning, the clear blue sky typical in Fall was spreading out. The air was comfortably cool and it made me refreshed with the great view of Hakuba.

Almost alpine flowers in the park passed their flowering season, but I found Shiraneninjin in some areas. There were also Nanakamado, Oohyotanboku, Takeshimaran, Gozentachibana, Niwatoko with red seeds, Kuromamenoki and Sankayou with blue seeds and Shiratamanoki with white seeds.

The clouds rose up fast and hid the peaks of mountains around 9:30 a.m. when I reached Ukishima Marsh. We could see the beautiful yellow carpet of autumn grass here as well.

The snow of Hakuba Snowy Valley has melted 2 weeks earlier than usual. Because of the snow shortage, the mountain trail through this snowy valley is closed from today. Tsugaike is one of the detour trails, so I met a lot of people who would go trekking to Mt. Hakuba in this morning. (*On Sep. 3 & 4, the gondola will be open at 7:00 a.m.)
