Yesterday, on 18th of July (Sat), the all mountain huts which announced to be open this summer on the ranges of Ushiro-Tateyama Renpo started their operation, including Happo-ike Sanso, Karamatsu-dake Chojo Sanso, Tengu Sanso, Goryu Sanso and Hakuba Sanso. For the prevention of infections of Coronavirus, all guests are required to make a booking before their stay at both of huts and campsites. Today, we had a refreshing morning with the awaited sunlight in the foot and on the mountain.

“The mountain ridges were covered with the clouds which came with the wind from Japan Sea in this early morning, but we had a clear day yesterday and the sunset was so amazing,” a mountaineer who was coming down from Mt. Karamatsu talked to me. I saw many people going up toward Mt. Karamatsu after a break at Happo-ike Pond and Cairn No.3.

Against our expectations, we could not see the ridges of three mountains of Hakuba from the deck (Photo) besides the pond because of the clouds moving dynamically and fogs coming from the foot. However, we still had a good time at the pond with the cool fresh air and bright green views.
