The weather has been dull these days. Nikko-kisuge reached peak bloom in Kamaike Marsh in the middle of last week. Some already faded, while some were still in bud this morning (Monday, July 13). I saw visitors stopping and taking photos of the flowers on their way to Grad Quad.

There were a lot of flowers of Happo-usuyukiso (pictured), Iwashimotsuke, Yamabuki-shoma, and Hananigana along Happo One Nature Trail. About 80 species of alpine plants were blooming, including some minor species.

It was cloudy and cool, although it’s already mid-July. It was just +16 degrees around 10:30 a.m.I worked up a good sweat, however, I got a chill while taking a break. think you should bring something to slip on, like a jacket or a windbreaker.

I saw some flowers of Chishimagikyo (pictured) near No.3 Cairn, and Hosoba-tsumekusa, Tegatachidori, and Kumoma-miminagusa near Happo-ike Pond. I also found Miyama-daimonjiso, Tateyama-utsubogusa, and Tokiso on my way back along Boardwalk.
