On 1st of July (Wed), the vehicle road of Kurobishi Rindo leading up to Kurobishi was opened and Kurobishi No.3 Pair Lift started its summer operation as well. The lift is open at 8:15 a.m. until July 10th (Fri) and then, open at 7:45 a.m. on 11th (Sat), 12th (Sun), 18th (Sat), 19th (Sun) of July and open at 6:45 a.m. during the holidays from 23rd (Thu) to 26 (Sun) of July. Happo Alpen Line is also starts the early-morning operation from July 11th (Sat).

HAKUBA VALLEY will have more and more rainy days in July, due to the approach of the seasonal rainy front toward the north. Yesterday, we had a lightly-rainy day, often with a strong wind. The weather was more better today and there was a soft sunlight from the breaks of clouds sometimes, but it was likely to be cloudy.

However, it made the temperature stay cool nicely for climbing. The wooden paths and the rocks on the trails except for the trail between Cairn No.2 and Happo Cairn were dry enough in spite of the rain in these 2 days until yesterday. During hiking on Ridge Trail to Happo-ike Pond, I could see flowers of Iwashimotsuke in full bloom and Happousuyukisou as well.

The snow on Happo-ike pond had completely disappeared and the wooden deck on the side of Cairn No.3 was open. The surface of the pond rippled in the cool wind from the north. I felt even cold when stopped to walk. Around there, we could see the flowers of Hosobatsumekusa and some cute buds of Chishimagikyou by Cairn No.3.
