It was a warm and sunny weekend. “Snowboard New Model Test Ride” is being held at the base area of Hakuba 47 today and tomorrow. There are 34 model snowboards for the next year in total, including those from SCOOTER, YONEX, and MOSS. You can try it for free after you show your ID, such as driver’s license.

“Giant Slalom” and “Parallel Slalom” is held on Mar.31 (Sat) and Apr.1 (Sun), respectively, at the lower area of Hakuba 47. I could feel a tense atmosphere at the starting area where snowboarders were all waiting for their run. The visitors can descend through Route 7 and the lower area of Route 1, though they need to stop for a moment at the place where the routes and the course for the competition cross, in order to wait for the riders to run down.

In addition, the final of “Snowboarding Japan Championship”, “COW DAY 2018” was also held today! It was held at the 20 m BIG AIR specially prepared for the competition at 47PARKS. Snowboarders, including Mr. Yuki Kadono, who won the first prize three times before, and Mr. Yuri Okubo, Mr. Hiroaki Kunitake, and Ms. Yuka Fujimori, who joined in the PyeongChang Winter Olympics, joined in the competition. They were showing a big jump one after another even in the training session (photo).

12 out of 20 snowboarders can pass the preliminaries and 4 of them getting through the semifinal and final tournament can join in the super final to determine a championship. The venue will be moved to Jib Course at the base area from 4 p.m. 2 way Transfer Flat Down Rail, Butter Box to Down Rail, Double Down Rail will be prepared in the course, and jib battle will be held.
