Cortina / ○290cm / Snowy2021.Jan.11

21011101_cortinaThe big cold wave which stayed over Hokuriku Area also brought heavy snow even to Cortina, the northernmost ski area of HAKUBA VALLEY. In Ikenota (Photo), the lights for night skiing were working this morning because it was much darker than usual due to the thick clouds and heavy snow. The groomed slope of nice snow was covered with 10cm fresh snow lightly.

21011102_cortinaThe snow became weaker and the sky got brighter at around 8:45 a.m. The groomed slope of Mt. Hieda Rinkan Course (Photo) was also in good condition with 8cm fresh snow on the nicely firm slope. In the off-piste areas of Mt. Hieda Course 1 and Tree Area, people made shouts of joy to the 35cm fluffy snow.

21011103_cortinaItadaira Course (Photo) was also keeping its off-piste slope as well as Mt. Hieda Course 1-3 these days. The soft feel of the fluffy snow made us really excited when dropped off to this area. The layer under the fresh snow was firm and bumpy, but it did not matter to riding thanks to the good condition.

21011104_cortinaIn Kids Play Park, children from Aichi Pref. were challenging to Snow Rafting (JPY1,500 per person). While on the rafting board, the snowmobile leaded them at high speed and made turns, so they got shower of big snow spray often! After the thriring activity, they showed smiles on their face.
