A Happy New Year! At the lobby of Hotel Green Plaza Hakuba, Sake (Photo) and Amazake were treated from 8:00 a.m. Also, “Garapon Fortune Slip” (JPY2,000 per time, you can get at least a JPY2,000 coupon for shops) was held from 10:00 a.m. and there were many prizes such as ” G-Shock Cortina Version”.

On the nicely soft groomed slope of Ikenota (Photo), there was 10cm fluffy fresh snow. I could feel the snow flowing lightly and comfortably while I was skiing. By the way, when I measured the snow amount at the skier’s left side in the lower part, the off-piste area had even 30cm fresh snow.

Usually, Itadaira Course is groomed, but it was kept as an off-piste area this morning. There was good fresh snow of 45cm deep and it reached above my knees. Although beginners were stuck in the deep snow, expert riders went down smoothly with big snow spray.

The groomed slope of Mt. Hieda Rinkan Course (Photo) was nicely soft and covered with 10cm fresh snow. In Mt. Hieda Course 1, there was deep snow reaching knees as much as in Itadaira, so it was difficult to ski down with good speed in the beginning part. The off-piste areas of Tree Area, Mt. Hieda Course 2 and Mt. Hieda Course 3 were very popular today and I could hear people making shouts of joy there.
